Looks like you got all the good basics covered.

I might also add a playpen or gated area that surrounds her crate for supervised playtime. it will also serve as a nice long term confinement area that you can put your doggy toilet in if you have to be gone longer then 1-2 hours.

Make sure you buy chew toys that you can stuff lots of food into like Kongs, Squirrel dudes, biscuit balls, anything rubber and hollow. Beagles are busy little dogs and stuffing chew toys will keep them busy and give them an outlet for their sniffing instincts.

Kyjen hide a squirrel or the IQ tube are big hits with my busy little 12 week old dog and she loves to “hunt” out her prey.

The potty stuff is a biggie, make sure you get pads with a urine attractive scent or a bottle of “Go here”. Also put an enzymatic cleaner on your list and LOTS of paper towels (mine has gone through a few rolls already from accidents…) *** As your dog is only 8 weeks you will have to train her indoors for a bit to prevent risk of disease before she is vaccinated*** But you can make a toilet out of a cat littler pan and a square of sod to encourage the “grass” instinct.

Dog training help please?

I have a 11 month old male puggle(or beagle pug mix) He is a rescue and i don’t know much about his background besides he lived in a puppy mill with 9 other dogs in 1 cage. Well we finally got him leash trained by using a no tug harness. Its helped a lot and its not as embarrassing walking him down the street with him pulling me… There is one thing that still embarrasses me. When we walk him and a dog walkes by he pulls, howls, and his back hair stands up. He has had socialization with dogs before but hes only been off leash and played with 1. What can be causing this behavior? And what can i do to stop it? O yeah and we got him when he was 9 weeks old. He was taken out of the puppy mill early and had to have a sareget mother for a couple of weeks. can this be the reason?

What else can I give my dog? She has Malassezia Pachydermatis Dermatitis?

I bath my dog twice a week with Malaseb Shampoo. I got my rescue dog 11 months ago, she is 22 months old now. I give her 1 capsule of Candida Clear a day, Duraflora capsules to help keep good bacteria in her gut, brewers yeast, Coconut oil, Cold Compressed Flax seed oil capsules (1 twice daily).

You are doing really well. About the only thing that I would suggest that you did not list is Colloidal Silver. You can spray it on the skin. Actually, you could put it in her drinking water also.
Gluten and wheat are not the best for a dog with yeast. How about raw feeding or even try home cooking?

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I may have to put my dog down this week. Can’t get excited about baby!?

MY DOG HAS A SPINAL INJURY & CAN NO LONGER WALK ON HIS REAR LEGS. WE HAVE BE TRYING DIFFERENT TREATMENTS WHICH SOMETIMES WILL HELP WITH THIS TYPE OF INJURY. HE BEGAN MOVING HIS BACK LEGS AND TAIL AGAIN BUT STILL CAN’T WALK. THE VET SAYS IT DOESN’T LOOK GOOD AND HE SHOULD HAVE MORE IMPROVMENT BY NOW. HE WANTS TO TRY ONE MORE INJECTION BEFORE PUTTING HIM DOWN. I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO NOT PUT HIM DOWN BECAUSE HIS PERSONALITY IS STILL THE SAME LOVAEABLE GUY, BUT HE IS 100 PDS SO I CAN’T MOVE HIM EASILY IF AT ALL. I CAN’T STOP CRYING ALL I THINK ABOUT IS MY DOG BECAUSE FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS HE HAS BEEN MY NUMBER 1 BABY! THE PROBLEM IS THAT I’M 36 WEEKS PREGNANT AND NO LONGER CAN FEEL EXCITED ABOUT THE BABY COMING. I FEEL VERY GUILTY. HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH GRIEF THIS LATE IN PREGNANCY??

I had to put my dog down when I was at the end of my pregnancy too and it was hell.. It took a good two weeks and I literally went out to eat went shopping with my hubby anything to take my mind off of it. I had infertility issues and i thought this dog was going to be my baby if I couldn’t get pregnant. Then the dog got cancer and I had to put him down when it went to his spine. He couldn’t even hold his head up to drink and he would squeal in pain just to lay there. when i got bad, I reminded myself that keeping him alive would have been for selfish reasons and that one the baby got here, I wouldn’t have been able to tend to his needs the way he needed me and it wouldn’t have been fair to him. After all, no matter how much it hurt and how much i loved him, he was the one who was truly suffering. I rubbed my belly everyday after we put him down and told the baby how much the dog would have loved him and that he was looking forward to meeting him, but he was too sick to stay here and that he was in heaven with our relatives praying for blessings for the baby. whatever, I had to tell myself to feel better about it, I did. The dog was only 2 and like a family member not a pet. By the time I delivered, the labor and the birth were the only things i could think of and my life was filled with instant joy the moment I saw my baby boy. You will get through it. it will be hard, but even though it doesn’t seem so, you will be so ecstatic over your baby and the baby will replace all your grief.
